Durham | Brunch at Flat White Kitchen

I would say I am a regular at Flat White Kitchen in Durham, but not so regular that they know my name or they save me a spot at my favourite table by the succulents (goals!!!) but if am heading into city it's the only place on my list to grab a coffee if i have time to sit in.

Coffee is always served to perfection and the food is exceptional!

I love introducing friends who are from out of town to FW, they are always impressed with the menu, the presentation and of course the relaxed cool atmosphere.

French Toast with Greek Yoghurt, Caramelised peaches and a sprinkle of flaked almonds

Scrambled egg on sour dough with added bacon and a sprinkle of chives.

My friend opted for the stack of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, he keeps telling me how amazing these were, personally I would have opted for the blueberry version which look divine!

You can't book or reserve table at FW, so you do have to queue at peak times but not usually for too long and I would rather wait than go somewhere else.

Amazing news is that the brunch menu served until 4pm you can really just take your time to roll out of bed. If you turn up between 12 - 4 you can have the pick of both brunch and lunch menus!

Did I mention... they also do an amazing choice of cakes, which you try to decide on while waiting for your table.

Looking at all this food is making me hungry, and my breakfast this morning looked nothing like this, but I look forward to my next visit!

If you haven't been, make sure you do!  But turn up hungry, just to make it worth while.

Fashion | What's in my Aspinal mini trunk clutch bag?

Hello August....new month means, new bag... doesn't it? Any excuses!

After considering this bag for a couple of months, I have purchased the Mini Trunk Clutch by british brand Aspinal of London

I first spotted the bag within the Leeds store where they had it in so many colours! But it was the black with gold hardware that caught my eye.

I walked away without the bag, but had been considering each week since. I asked some friends what they thought of this quirky bag with mixed response but I had made my mind up, it was the one for me.

I absolutely love the optional personalisation which is available on a number of items, not many places offer this service. For gold embossing like mine prices start at £15 for 4 letters.

I picked this bag up in the Metro centre store, Gateshead last week where they were happy to do the embossing straight away, I just had to pop back after 10 minutes while they organised it on the machine.

The mini trunk is made of beautifully soft leather with gold hardware and has a branded shield lock.

Dimensions: 5.7" (H) x 7.3" (W) x 3" (D)
Handle drop: 2.4" / Detachable cross-body strap: 22
One zip pocket inside

What can you fit inside the mini trunk bag?

Iphone 7 plus
Car keys
purse
2 lipsticks
1 lip liner
1 mirror

It's not loads, but it is the essentials and more than I can sometimes get in my some of my other clutch bags on an evening out. Most importantly it fits my iPhone 7 plus.
